Healthy Valleys is a community led health initiative, which means we respond to the needs of our communities, by listening, getting involved and supporting them to grow and prosper. Our ethos of volunteering means that people are able to take control and make a real difference in their community.

If you want to get involved, please talk to us about your ideas and volunteering.

We are always looking for people who want to give up a few hours of their time, on a regular or ad-hoc basis, to support the many programmes and activities we run, as well as to help out with events or even to assist in the office.

We train, support and reward our volunteers well. You’ll have the opportunity to take part in volunteer/staff development days, Healthy Working Lives activities and our annual Volunteer/ Staff Development day and other events. Click here for the Volunteers Update.

If you need training to help you with your chosen volunteering duties, we’ll make sure you get it. Any expenses you incur through volunteering will also be reimbursed.

Currently our volunteers:

  • Lead organised walks in the area
  • Assist with admin duties
  • Provide complementary therapy treatments
  • Gain skills coaching sports and fitness activities to all age groups
  • Are involved in the governance of the organisation
  • Accompany groups on activities
  • Represent Healthy Valleys at community events
  • Lead healthy cooking sessions
  • Support vulnerable new parents
  • And much more!
