Re Connect wins the lottery!!

Re Connect Project Receives Funding Boost

We are delighted that Healthy Valleys, in partnership with Healthy N Happy Community Trust, has  received funding from the Big Lottery Fund to deliver our successful ReConnect Project for a further 3 and a half  years.

Our existing Development Worker Fiona Gairns, together with new Project Worker Barbara Harding, will work with a dedicated team of volunteers to support older people who face a range of issues which increase social isolation and impact on their ability to live independently.

Volunteers will offer practical and emotional support to beneficiaries, working with them to identify and overcome the challenges they face, with a view to reintegrating them with their local communities and therefore lessening isolation and loneliness. We aim to leave our beneficiaries with an increased ability to live independently and feeling more positive about the future.

We are recruiting volunteers NOW. No specific skills or qualifications are required but it helps if you are friendly, outgoing and have good communication skills. If you would like to make a difference to the life of an older person, whilst making friends and developing new skills, this is the role for you!

Expenses and mileage are paid and we offer a fantastic range of training opportunities in return for your commitment of a few hours a week.

To be part of this exciting and rewarding project, please contact Barbara ( or Fiona ( or call 01555 880666.

All positions are subject to a criminal records check by Disclosure Scotland.
